  Principal and President 

Hal founded Patriot Self Storage in 2006, raising $100MM to develop self storage facilities in high-growth markets. Patriot Self Storage developed, built, operated, and ultimately sold two self storage facilities in Southwest Florida.    

Hal learned and fell in love with the self storage industry while working as the Eastern Regional Vice President (“RVP”) for Public Storage Pickup Services, a subsidiary of Public Storage, the world’s largest self storage REIT. As the RVP, Hal was responsible for all aspects of the business for a third of the United States.     

Throughout his career, Hal has been involved with growing companies: 

• The DuMont Project - a leading consulting firm in the Direct Marketing and Advertising space. Hal started this business with four other partners and it has grown into one of the premiere direct marketing consultancies in the United States. 
• ZipKord Solutions - a leading importer and distributor of mobile accessories. Under Hal's leadership, the company grew from $1MM in revenue to over $12MM annually. 
• EZ Prints, Inc. - a privately held venture-backed light manufacturing company. Prior to founding Patriot Self Storage, Hal was the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Finance for EZ Prints, Inc. During his tenure, the company grew revenues from $4.3MM to over $30MM while increasing headcount from 25 to over 100 employees. The company was sold to Café Press (NASDAQ: PRSS).   

Outside of work, Hal enjoys spending time with his wife and son golfing, fishing, cheering for Navy football, and watching rugby.  He is a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County and a prior board member of Pine View School.

Hal holds a BS degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies from UCLAAnderson. 

Principal and Chief Financial Officer 

Jeff joined Patriot Storage in May 2017. Jeff has spent the majority of his career in real estate operations and finance: 

• ABC Family LLC - a residential and commercial real estate investment and management firm. As Chief Financial Officer, Jeff oversees all finance, accounting, and operational areas of the company, and also provides investment guidance and management on ABC’s non-real estate investments.
• Yardi Systems - the world’s leading provider of real estate investment and property management software. In various executive roles, Jeff helped create and sell Yardi’s outsourced Accounting and IT support team, and managed a sales department consisting of over 200 sales representatives and 50 support staff.
• NALS Apartment Homes - a multi-family investment and management company. As Chief Financial Officer, Jeff managed multiple aspects of the firm’s investment and real-estate operations spanning over 50 operating divisions holding over $1.0 billion in assets. During his tenure at NALS, Jeff executed $388.5 million in acquisitions using $274 million in debt and $131 million in equity including three tax-free exchange transactions. 

Jeff has also held positions in private equity and investment banking focused on executing and managing transactions in the real estate, technology, financial institutions, retail, and industrial verticals. 

Jeff enjoys spending his time with his wife and two daughters while trying to find more ways to spend time outdoors. He is an avid skier, swimmer, biker, runner, and college football fan having started at left tackle for the Stanford University football team while playing for Bill Walsh and Denny Green. 

Jeff has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from UCLAAnderson.
